Park & Facility Improvement Projects
The Lemont Park District continues to grow our footprint to bring parks, open space and facilities to the community of Lemont. We currently have over 130 acres of green space, 24 parks and we’re growing!
Athens Park
Located at the north end of Stephen Street, this park will be a beautiful addition to our vibrant downtown area. In the coming months, the Park District’s contractors, E.P. Doyle, will continue to finalize the additional amenities.
The Village of Lemont has begun their project to improve the Stephen Street entrance and access to this new community outdoor recreation space. Over the next couple months, additional improvements will continue, which include: repairing and replacing the limestone under the overpass, striping, new pavement, pedestrian and bikeway markings and further aesthetic enhancements. The project is being coordinated with a variety of agencies.
